At Bert & May we love patterns and we love drawing inspiration from them. And the abstract geometric designs of the Asquith and the Santona are two of our favourites – capturing the timeless appeal of smooth lines and sophisticated patterns to produce a modern and elegant look.
These designs were reinterpreted and curated with the Sofa.com x Bert & May collaboration last summer to create a beautiful capsule fabric collection. The collaboration features these two design and is in two colourway, dark room black and natural and an intensely hued black and navy.
Once we saw how well the colourways looked in print we decided we just had to recreate the similar hues and combinations on the tiles. So, inspired by the sofa.com collaboration we have these beautifully crafted designs to add to our collection. Classic strong statement designs that can work well in a contemporary or period setting in two tones, black and white and blue and black.
The look has classic yet contemporary feel to it and compliments all Bert & May’s aesthetic. Our plain tiles, fabrics and paints can all work together with this look. The natural tones and pigments and washed out finishes bring this design aesthetic together.
All our fabric is crafted in the UK and are made from a blend of the finest raw cotton and linen (mix) to achieve the brand’s signature raw aesthetic. The tiles are made in Spain from a mixture of sand, cement and natural pigments. We also add crushed marble for enhanced durability and a distinctive raw finish. They are created using a bespoke metal mould, which is made specifically for each design.
